奈良の歴史ある町家にて現代アートを展開するプロジェクト 「奈良町にぎわいの家 つし二階アート企画」の第16弾として

『つうず_れ_る』- Communication / Miscommunication - を開催いたします。

今回の企画はコミュニケーションを軸にした異文化間の共同創作プロジェクト。
ここにいる人たち（こちら）と遠く海外にいる二人のアーティスト（あちら）が

かつては人の暮らしがあった、奈良町にぎわいの家という場所で 「HOME」というキーワードをもとに交流をもち、作品制作を進めます。

こちらからあちらに何を伝えられるのか？ あちらは何を受け取り、そこから何が生まれるのか？

文化の受信／発信、伝達の行為を考えた時、「通ずる」ことの重要性とともに、

正確に伝わらなかった誤解が生む「ズレ」にも創造性を 発見することができるのではないでしょうか。

誤解やズレ、勘違いが生む新たな表現の可能性も探りながら 作品制作の過程を公開し、進めていく実験的な制作展示となります。

今年4月から6月の、奈良とイギリス遠隔での制作準備交流をを終え、9月の一ヶ月間は
イギリスから迎えるローラ・トンプソンと、ルイーズ・ローランドの作品展示となります。
この交流を経てどういう表現が生まれたのか、またご自身の思う「HOME」と作家の表現する「HOME」の中にも
​ズレや重なりを発見してください。

This art project at Tushi-Nikai, Naramachi-Nigiwai-no-ie focuses on 'communication', the foundation of culture.
Communication, not only the act of 'understanding' but also 'misunderstanding' or 'perception gap' are important because

they create room to imagine, guess and rebuild ideas freely. Here I would like to explore the possibility of 'communication / miscommunication'.
In this project, we would like to see what will be created through uneasy communication between the local Nara people and artists from abroad.
We set 'HOME' as the shared key word for the artists and the locals, this time with a history that the exhibition place used to be private's house.
There are surely different perspective of what Home for you among the participants in this project. 
What do we share even through we have distinct backgrounds? And how can we utilize the gap between differences? 
Facing differences can lead to the potential for producing something meaningful.
Creation process of the project is open to the public, so you can follow what was going on here.
After our preparation period between the local Nara people and the selected artists from April to June, we are now exhibiting final responses by two artists,
Laura Thompson and Louise Rowland from the UK.
I hope you can explore what is shared and what cannot be shared between your thought of 'HOME' and the one from this exhibition.
